The EVC provides inventors with opportunities to flesh out their ideas, get feedback on their business plans, and compete for funding:
- The EVC’s education series helps inventors develop strong business plans and improve business operations. Inventors can also pitch their business plans and recruit help from Darden students.
- Through the EVC speaker series, inventors can learn valuable lessons from successful entrepreneurs. Venture capitalists also share information about what they look for in a potential portfolio company.
- The Venture Capital Bootcamp educates future entrepreneurs about how to approach venture capitalists, what VCs look for in funding a company, and how the venture capital funding process works.
- Through the EVC sponsored Business Concept Competition and Business Plan Competition, inventors have the opportunity to compete to win funding from the Batten Institute and space in the Darden Progressive Incubator. The Innovation Challenge at Darden provides teams of MBA inventors the opportunity to compete for cash prizes and the title of “The Most Innovative MBA Team in the World.”
